Toward Cheerful Harmony! — Hans Otto Theater, Potsdam
Description was written before the event

The bats in the attic of cottage number 8 were just clocking off. But then the main power line fails - and with it, the idyll of the weekend-home settlement "Toward Cheerful Harmony" collapses. A trench must be dug for the new cable. But where exactly? Here or that historically sensitive half-meter to the left? And since we're digging anyway: why not lay fiber optic while we're at it? Weekend idyll with dead zones or cottage with 4K? Local electrician or EU-wide tender with transparency package?

Overnight, neighbors become trench fighters - armed with expertise about electricity and the state of the world. What begins as a harmless infrastructure project escalates into a comic, chaotic debate hell: progress versus tradition, economy versus ecology, west versus east, old versus young, city versus countryside. Newcomers meet long-time residents, Prenzlauer Berg commuters meet plot owners, small families meet polyamorous collectives. And then a pacifist raccoon shows up - with a message that carries weight.

Following the Potsdam portrait "7 ½ Bridges," Jan Neumann and the ensemble develop a rapid-fire comedy about everything that divides us - and the question: if we can divide ourselves so brilliantly, can we perhaps achieve the opposite?
