Prinzen on Air - Premiere
kleines theater – KAMMERSPIELE Landshut, Germany
A stage adaptation by Sven Grunert, freely based on Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's work.
After a plane crash in the Sahara, a pilot encounters a mysterious being. Everything begins with a single request: "Draw me a sheep." Two actors and a performance artist who draws tell the story, act, and sketch - moving between characters, narrative levels, and different theatrical forms. Before the audience's eyes, figures, landscapes, and memories emerge from a few lines. Drawing, performance, music, and narration meet in the same moment, continuously transforming the stage space.
The Little Prince appears not only as a literary character, but as that inner child we all carry within us. Identities are not fixed - they emerge in the moment of encounter. The child knows no articles. The prince. The princess. The principality. "A rose is a rose is a rose." (Gertrude Stein.)
The Prince leaves his asteroid B 612 and his rose, travels across six planets to Earth, and finds himself in the desert. A poetic theatrical experiment for adults.
