Die Kulturkiste #o7 - Kultur und Gespräch - von der (Un)Sichtbarkeit
Kofferfabrik, Fürth, Germany
KulturKiste brings together word, music, and exhibition several times a year for thematic evenings where regional artists present their work and discuss shared questions.
This evening's theme: on (in)visibility. The more familiar our brain becomes with certain circumstances, the less it perceives them - some people and issues disappear from public view. How can we bring them back? How do we preserve humanity, diversity, and resilience?
Guests include: Yasmin Pohl (Straßenkreuzer) - an organization that has worked for over 30 years to ensure poor and homeless people are not overlooked, through a monthly magazine, guided city tours, a benefit CD, and other initiatives. Erik Stenzel (guitar) - a Nuremberg singer-songwriter who combines critical poetry with anger and hope, singing about a society worth observing. Astrid Betz and Sabrina Weyh (Nürnberger Gedenkorte) - together with two other co-authors, they published the guide "Erinnern nicht vergessen", which makes memorial sites in Nuremberg visible again - including monuments we pass daily without noticing.
The evening is curated and moderated by musician Annkathrin Slavik and author Robert Wolfgang Segel. Supported by Fürther Partnerschaft für Demokratie.
