The Butterfly Workshop

Inspired by Gioconda Belli's beloved children's book, this puppet play tells the story of a world where everything still needs to be invented. The so-called Creators design plants and animals - but they must follow a strict rule: everything must be useful, and the animal and plant worlds must never mix. Young Creator Rodolfo dreams of something different: a being that can fly like a bird and is beautiful like a flower. Through sketches, experiments, and many failed attempts, an idea takes shape that could change everything - the butterfly.

Artisanen (Berlin) combines puppet theatre, music, and animation into a poetic story about curiosity, ingenuity, and the courage to believe in seemingly impossible dreams.
