Hell on Earth - Badische Landesbühne - Introduction 19:00

Apocalyptic comedy by Maria Lazar - Introduction at 19:00

The world teeters on the brink of another world war, the League of Nations in complete disarray. A newspaper ad cries out: "Help us, God!" - and God sends Peter. It is the 760,839,000th anniversary of the creation of the world, but God has had enough of humanity and their endless quarrels. When the League of Nations seeks a new kind God through an advertisement, he reluctantly sends Peter with two angels to Geneva. Without authority, without a valid passport, a colorful game of misunderstandings unfolds.

Vienna-born writer Maria Lazar (1895-1948) wrote the play in the 1930s. Long forgotten, it was rediscovered in 2022 and premiered in September 2024.
