Adjiri Odametey Solo - African World Music

Adjiri Odametey is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Accra, Ghana. His trademark is a warm, earthy voice; he plays mbira, kalimba, kora, balafon, and guitar. In 2021, SWR called him "one of the best world musicians".

Growing up in Accra, where various ethnic groups maintained their musical traditions, he encountered numerous musical styles during international tours as a teenager. He was a member of the Pan African Orchestra and recorded their debut album "Opus 1" with the band at Peter Gabriel's legendary Real World Studio.

He became known through the title song of his first album "Mala". At the concert in Kresslesmühle, he presents "Ekonklo - on the other side", his fourth album to date - a programme that blends West African roots with contemporary Western influences.
