CARNIFEX / DESPISED ICON — Proxima, Warsaw

A deadly hat-trick in Warsaw☠️ Three bands that have had a massive impact on the deathcore and brutal death metal landscape of the 21st century join forces for a joint tour. Carnifex, Despised Icon, and Suffocation will perform together on November 17 at Warsaw's Proxima club, with Gates To Hell opening the show.

Carnifex, active since 2005, boasts 9 albums in their discography, with "Necromanteum" released 3 years ago as their latest. The San Diego outfit has earned its place as one of the genre's most important acts over 20 years of activity, and the Warsaw show will demonstrate why – their sonic blows will shatter your bones.

Canadian deathcore pioneers Despised Icon returned late last year with their first full-length in six years. Released by Nuclear Blast, "Shadow Work" delivers their signature blend of extreme death metal and hardcore, a mix that hits hardest in a live setting.

Suffocation's 1991 debut "Effigy of the Forgotten" was a watershed moment for the entire genre – it merged relentless brutality with unmatched technical prowess, giving birth to what is now known as brutal death metal. Tracks like "Liege of Inveracity" and "Infecting the Crypts" remain blueprints for hundreds of younger bands, and Suffocation's influence echoes from brutal death through slam to contemporary deathcore. Their latest album to date, "Hymns from the Apocrypha" (2023), proves the band still delivers intense, dense playing without falling into routine.

The evening opens with Gates To Hell, a Kentucky-based outfit that combines fast, aggressive riffs with deathcore breakdowns. Their second album "Death Comes To All" was released last year on Nuclear Blast.
