Once a year, historic sites that are normally closed to the public open their doors to visitors. Open Monument Day is a nationwide German initiative that draws history and architecture enthusiasts to remarkable places across the country.

In Munich, the day offers the chance to explore numerous historic buildings, join guided tours and talks, and discover the city's hidden architectural and cultural treasures.
