About: Gaye Su Akyol

Istanbul-born singer and anthropologist Gaye Su Akyol has built her own musical language from Anatolian folk roots, Turkish psychedelia and Western rock - a sound that earned her the Songlines Best Artist prize in 2019 and glowing coverage from Pitchfork to the Financial Times. Her fourth album Anadolu Ejderi, out on Sub Pop, is the fullest statement of that vision yet.
