Stoltze für Alle! - Michael Quast reads and performs texts by Frankfurt dialect poet and satirist Friedrich Stoltze
Volksbühne im Großen Hirschgraben, Frankfurt, Germany
25 €
Michael Quast reads and performs poems and stories by Frankfurt dialect poet and satirist Friedrich Stoltze - ranging from gentle wit to blunt punchlines, somewhere between rebellion and Biedermeier.
Friedrich Stoltze commanded the Frankfurt dialect at a remarkable literary level, earning his living as publisher and lead author of the satirical weekly "Frankfurter Latern". The paper's sharp humour and anti-Prussian stance made it famous well beyond Frankfurt. As a political journalist, Stoltze was at times a wanted man.
Michael Quast breathes new life into the poems and turns the stories into miniature radio plays. The event runs approximately 2 hours including an interval.
