Always Trouble with Harry - A Crime Evening
Schulungshaus bei Hamburg Wasser, Germany
33 €
By Jack Trevor Story
Three people simultaneously insist they are the one who killed Harry: an eccentric captain claims he shot him, a refined lady says she beat him with her shoe, and his ex-wife swears she killed him with a milk bottle. Nobody actually regrets Harry's death. The supposed trio of murderers decides to hide the troublesome corpse in the forest, and a previously quiet English town descends into frantic activity - dark British humour at its finest.
A spirited evening accompanied with wit by Natalie Böttcher on accordion.
Jens Wawrczeck's passion for Alfred Hitchcock extends to the literature behind the films. In his stage programme "Hitch and I", he reads from the novels, short stories and plays that provided the material for Hitchcock's thrillers. Together with various musicians, the voice artist brings these stories to life on stage - so impressively and grippingly that the audience doesn't miss the film images for a second.
"Jens Wawrczeck knows how to create suspense through language," wrote the Hamburger Abendblatt in a review. "Thanks to his linguistic artistry, everyone in the hall is on the edge of their seat waiting for the resolution... goosebumps guaranteed!"
