Facing the Future

Two ensembles from Freiburg's music scene meet in an extraordinary concert - both work with the same instrumental palette, yet their musical orientations could hardly be more different. Ensemble Recherche and the Freiburg Philharmonic Orchestra unite in this special encounter. What happens when a chamber ensemble of nine musicians meets an approximately seventy-member symphony orchestra? Does an imbalance emerge - or a field of tension in which the distinctive qualities of both formations mutually inspire each other?
