Blues Caravan 2026 - 20th Anniversary Edition - with Laura Chavez, Matthew Curry & Elise Frank — Jazzhaus, Freiburg im Breisgau

For the German label Ruf Records, this marks another milestone. The company recently celebrated 30 years of operation as a renowned international blues label. Now, in 2026, the popular live tour "Blues Caravan" from Ruf Records is hitting the road for the twentieth time. The roster of artists who have been part of the Caravan's history includes many of today's most celebrated blues musicians - among them Ana Popovic, Samantha Fish, Aynsley Lister, and Joanne Shaw Taylor, to name just a few. The trio of headliners stepping into their footsteps on this anniversary tour embodies an exciting blend of experience, profound emotion, and youthful energy.

Laura Chavez from California is undoubtedly the most seasoned musician in this lineup. As an exceptionally gifted guitarist, she was the driving musical force in the late singer Candye Kane's band for many years (Blues Caravan 2005 & 2008). She has also performed countless concerts with Nikki Hill, Vanessa Collier, and rock-and-roll legend Mitch Ryder. Chavez captivates audiences with her rock-solid rhythm guitar and explosive electric guitar solos. She cemented her reputation as one of the finest in the blues scene in 2023 when she became the first woman ever to win the Blues Music Award for "Best Instrumentalist - Guitar".

Matthew Curry is regarded as a true gem for blues and rock enthusiasts. The American has been gracing North American stages for over a decade, thrilling audiences with his distinctive sound that blends blues, rock, and Americana. He has already shared the stage with major acts including Peter Frampton, the Steve Miller Band, the Doobie Brothers, and Blackberry Smoke.

French singer, songwriter, and guitarist Elise Frank is no longer a complete newcomer, but she remains a young artist to watch. Since 2021 she has fronted her band and earned recognition for her intense stage presence and authentic music that merges blues with a contemporary sound.
