the hot years - welcome to menopause - by & with Claudia Jacobacci
Theater Alte Brücke, Frankfurt, Germany
"Only other people get old!"
Claudia Jacobacci stumbles into perimenopause completely unprepared - and suddenly finds herself a stranger to her own life. In her solo show "the hot years" she brings this chapter to the stage with plenty of wit and a dash of frustration: from the first denial ("Menopause? Ugh! I still get my period!") to discovering what comes next - a well-worn path with its highs and lows.
As tempting as eternal spring may be, it only has one May. So Claudia buckles up on the hormonal rollercoaster heading toward late summer - always facing the sun, sparkling mineral water in hand. Welcome to menopause!
Directed by Katja Willebrand. Claudia Jacobacci grew up in a suburb of Frankfurt and joined the Münchener Lach- und Schießgesellschaft ensemble in 2000. From 2008 she appeared in numerous productions of the "Barock am Main" ensemble co-founded by Michael Quast. As a writer and performer she is a regular on literary stages and in the independent theatre scene; her own dance-theatre project toured France and Germany. She also works as a voice artist - and is now back in Frankfurt.
