Poetry Slam Köpenick

Poetry Slam - the modern contest of poetry, comedy and spoken word - has grown over the past years from a pub format to major stages and earned a place on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list.

Since 2019, spoken word artists have been facing off in Köpenick at the legendary Freiheit 15, competing for the audience's favour and a prize bag filled by the crowd with all manner of nonsense, valuables and love letters.

The rules? The text must be self-written, there's a time limit, and no props or costumes are allowed. Beyond that, anything goes - as long as it makes the stage shake.
