International summer concert - beloved melodies and young talents under the open sky
For the first time, the Heritage Sinfonietta - a professional orchestra from the Dutch twin city of Roermond - takes the helm of Mönchengladbach's long-standing SommerMusik open air concert, making it a meaningful gesture of cross-border cultural exchange.
The programme brings together acclaimed soloists from the Netherlands and Germany: sopranos Elisabeth Freyhoff and Mara Guseynova from the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, bass-baritone Hubert Claessens, and tenor Morschi Franz. Together with the orchestra, they will shape a summer evening of familiar melodies - arias from beloved operas by Puccini, Mozart and Dvorak, highlights from the musical My Fair Lady, sparkling excerpts from the operetta Die Fledermaus, and stirring film music.
Two young exceptional talents round out the evening: twelve-year-old cellist Huajin Gu, prize-winner at the Prinses Christina Concours, and fifteen-year-old singer Meadow Isselt, who represented the Netherlands at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
