Classical Open Air Concert 2026 at Schloss Rheydt
International summer concert - beloved melodies and young talents under the open sky

For the first time, the Heritage Sinfonietta from Roermond in the Netherlands takes the helm of the long-standing SommerMusik Open Air concert in Mönchengladbach. The programme brings together soloists from the Netherlands and Germany: sopranos Elisabeth Freyhoff and Mara Guseynova from the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, bass-baritone Hubert Claessens, and tenor Morschi Franz.

The evening features arias from operas by Puccini, Mozart and Dvořák, highlights from the musical My Fair Lady, excerpts from the operetta Die Fledermaus, and film music.

Two young talents stand out: twelve-year-old cellist Huajin Gu, prize-winner at the Prinses Christina Concours, and fifteen-year-old singer Meadow Isselt, who represented the Netherlands at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
