Rock music has always been the passion of Christa, Claus, Wolfram, Dieter, Klaus and Stefan. The word "Fonie", standing for sound and tone, was meant to complete the band's name. In 1979, enthusiasts including Wolfram Löser (guitar) and Klaus Müller (drums) founded this formation. They began with rock classics and original compositions (released in part on the Amiga label). Television recordings and performances at home and abroad followed. Queen Tribute!? This spirit was summoned in 2017. Since then, Dieter Siegmund has been on keyboards - a trained musician who has worked with Joy Fleming among others. On bass, Stefan "Grete" Weiser (worked as a solo bassist with Radio Big-Band Leipzig and as a lecturer at HMT Leipzig). After guest appearances in Denmark, Norway, Switzerland and elsewhere, Claus Kulisch takes the microphone - an HMT Leipzig graduate. Christa Löser has "spiced up" the vocal section. For many years she toured internationally with Musikservice Leipzig.
Since then, Rockfonie has been touring the country with their Queen cover programme. Initially in small clubs, but over time the stages grew larger and audiences more numerous - a fact reflected in their social media numbers. Professional sound and lighting design are essential. Jan Marc Below (sound) and Andreas Matusche (light design) are the experts behind it. The band has its own high-quality technical equipment (sound, light, laser design) capable of handling up to 1000 attendees without issue.
