ANGELALAND
A piece of contemporary history with specially selected music
Juliane Hendes
Angela Merkel brought together what could not be together. Sometimes what did not want to be. Even within herself. She was the country. The whole country. "Our" Angelaland. Karl-Konrad will place this famous Angela at the centre - his and ours. He will let the historical events pass in review, while asking: what have we Germans become, what has remained? "The thought of Angela Merkel brings a sense of security." Or does it? This will be a reckoning. Angela was always there with us, after all. Do you remember the world in which our Angela took care of our problems? The fisherman from Stralsund will deliver a pointed account - he knew her, drank wine with her, laughed with her, and knows exactly what a funny person Angela is. From the perspective of society's margins, the author lets Karl-Konrad trace the path of "our country" to the here and now. At the end, one question remains, reaching further than any chancellorship: who are we now, and what do we make of it?
For everyone aged 14 and over who wants to experience history with a wink - for the future, for our "later" - and stop kidding themselves.
