Ireen Sheer · Höchstpersönlich — Kulturhaus Freital, Freital

Ireen Sheer was born in Romford, England, to an English father and a German mother. For decades she has been one of the most beloved stars in the German and European music world, known for Schlager with strong rhythms and genuine warmth.

Her major hits - "Goodbye Mama", "Heute Abend hab ich Kopfweh", "Xanadu" and "Tennessee Waltz" - as well as her albums charted internationally. Over a career now spanning 60 years, she has released more than 20 albums and over 110 singles.

She has received numerous awards for her achievements, including the "Goldene Mikrofon", the "Silbernen Otto" and the "Goldene Stimmgabel" twice. She also published her autobiography "Jetzt oder nie". Ireen Sheer is married and lives with her husband in Berlin.

This evening gives the audience a chance to see the popular artist from a very different angle. Together with her husband, she opens her private photo album and music archive, sharing personal photographs and musical highlights.

In conversation with host Andrea Jung - rounded out by selected private contributions - the evening becomes a visual and musical journey through Ireen Sheer's life and 60 years in show business. She will also perform some of her greatest hits and personal favourites live.
