"A Christmas Carol" - Zollhaus and sagas.ensemble present Samuel Finzi, Herbert Knaup & sagas.streichquintett
Theater an der Blinke, Leer, Germany

Herbert Knaup (known from "Die Kanzlei", among others) plays the bitter egotist Scrooge. Alongside him, the exceptional actor Samuel Finzi (Deutsches Theater Berlin, among others) takes on all the roles that ultimately lead the miser to become a better person.
The story needs little introduction: on Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by four ghosts who help him rediscover his humanity. Blending theatre, reading, and music theatre, this tale - first published in 1843 - feels both timeless and strikingly relevant today. At a time when disrespect and selfishness are back in fashion, the work makes a quiet case for compassion and human decency.
With stirring live music as a backdrop, Finzi and Knaup bring out the distinctly British humour of this most-told Advent story with genuine warmth.
An evening that takes its audience on a ride between laughter and emotion. Two actors at the top of their game, paired with a virtuoso music ensemble - a visually rich and thoroughly entertaining stage production to get you in the Christmas spirit.
