ESTAMPIE & QNTAL - Anniversary Concert

40 years of Estampie, 35 years of Qntal - together 75 years of medieval music on contemporary stages. When Sigrid Hausen and Michael Popp emerged with exotic instruments, ancient texts, and fairy-tale melodies in a pop context - and Qntal combined it all with electronic sounds - a genre was born that remains unmatched to this day.

Since then, over 30 recordings and stage programmes have been created, radio and television broadcasts produced, and Sigrid Hausen's voice can be heard in the director's cut of the Hollywood film "Kingdom of Heaven". Add to this projects incorporating theatre, dance, and performance, as well as workshops on medieval singing.

For the anniversary, there are only two concert evenings nationwide: October 10 at HP-8 in Munich and October 16 at Christuskirche in Bochum. Both evenings offer a retrospective of the long creative periods of both projects - with guest musicians and some surprises.
