La Réunion and Madagascar - Digital Multivision Show by Wolfgang Röller

Two islands in the Indian Ocean, separated by barely 700 km - yet utterly different. La Réunion belongs to France and thus the European Union: Europe in the heart of the tropics, with developed infrastructure, tropical climate, and a landscape best explored on foot. Hiking trails lead through jagged crater basins, deep canyons, and rainforests, past hidden waterfalls and up to peaks over 2000 and 3000 meters. The population - descendants of immigrants from Africa, Europe, India, and China - embodies a living harmony of cultures and religions.

Just an hour's flight away lies Madagascar: the world's fourth-largest island, with nature found nowhere else. The rainforests of the east are home to countless animal and plant species, while the west impresses with its giant baobabs. Above all, lemurs - ring-tailed lemurs, makis, and the loudly calling indris - are found exclusively here.

Wolfgang Röller, a travel photographer and lecturer from Dresden, presents both islands in an HD audiovisual show. Since his first Himalayan journey in 2003, Röller has devoted himself to travel photography; his travels have since taken him to East, South, and North Africa, the Middle East and Far East, North and South America, and through the Himalayas and Karakoram.
