Heike Mallad - born in Lower Franconia's Klingenberg am Main - has always loved spending time on the water: first in her parents' folding kayak, then in her own kayak, and finally on a sailboat. She lives in Bamberg, where she offers culinary city tours and writes travel guides. In her free time she sails on all the world's oceans - the North Sea excepted. She spends her weekends sailing a small yacht moored in Enderndorf on Großer Brombachsee.
