Schlager, Dance and a Thousand Dreams - Open Air at the Garden Theatre Oberhausen

Following "Toast Hawaii" and "Schlager Never Lies", the ensemble of Theater an der Niebuhrg embarks once again on a journey through past decades. The new production "Schlager, Dance and a Thousand Dreams" guides audiences through four full decades.

From the hits of the nineteen-fifties to the present day, the new show spans a broad range of music, playfully highlighting the quirks of bygone eras. The acting and vocal cast is supported by a four-member dance ensemble that brings various musical styles to life through movement.

The story unfolds as follows: a husband forgets their wedding anniversary, leaving his wife understandably upset; their son is at odds with his girlfriend. As if that weren't enough, the entire family finds itself locked in the basement due to a broken door. Surrounded by old photo albums, vinyl records, and countless items from the past, they embark on a journey back in time. The most beautiful hits from four decades accompany this family tale; memories come alive, and the past suddenly feels very near.

This new show, written by Thomas Schiffmann ("Toast Hawaii", "Schlager Never Lies", "Summer of Love") and produced by Holger Hagemeyer, invites audiences on a delightful trip through time at Theater an der Niebuhrg.
