Jazzfieber featuring Mariam Lazizi

The quartet "Jazzfieber" came together in 2024 from members of the university big band Xyjazz. Their sound is earthy and groove-driven, built around catchy saxophone themes. Drawing on hardbop pioneers like the "Adderley Brothers" and "Eddie Harris" as well as musicians of the 90s, Jazzfieber blends well-known classics with original compositions - a potent remedy for the daily grind.

Joining the quartet is German-Tunisian singer Mariam Lazizi, known from the "Mariam Lazizi Quartet", whose musical roots lie in jazz and world music. Her warm, multi-layered voice fits naturally alongside the quartet's sound. The result gets you moving and is simply a pleasure to listen to. Fair warning: Jazzfieber is highly contagious!
