Since 1976, LJSO Hessen has been a talent forge for the region. For its 50th anniversary, alumni from all generations return to the hr-Sendesaal and meet the orchestra's current members.
The first part features a specially assembled jubilee orchestra conducted by Nicolás Pasquet. Former musicians who now play in ensembles such as the Dresden Philharmonic, Gürzenich-Orchester Cologne, and the Frankfurt Opera and Museum Orchestra perform together with many other colleagues. Alongside the Latin American rhythms of Ginastera and Márquez, Paul Hindemith's symphony "Mathis der Maler" takes centre stage - a work with special significance for Hesse.
In the second part, the current generation of LJSO takes the stage: musicians aged 13 to 21 perform Béla Bartók's "Konzert für Orchester".
Concert duration: approximately 2.5 hours including intermission
