FAUST'n'Roll - Rock Theatre after Goethe - Tour 2026

"FAUST 'n' Roll - Rock Theatre after Goethe" is a touring theatrical production based on texts by Johann Wolfgang Goethe, created from an idea by Michael Manthey, managing director of Manthey Event GmbH. The show regularly performs at the Brocken as "FAUST on the Brocken - Rock Theatre after Goethe".

The story draws strong inspiration from the steampunk fantasy world: an alternative reality set in the late 19th and early 20th centuries where everything runs on steam and crude mechanics - gears are the recurring visual motif. The performers wear technically modified Victorian-era fashion: top hats, corsets, frock coats. These costumes, along with the play across different time layers, enable striking jumps through Goethe's world of characters.

The digital stage design consists of two LED walls that can be combined into one depending on the scene; it forgoes pyrotechnics and blends multimedia effects with real ones. The performers are professionals from the musical theatre industry, and the live band plays rock ballads, pop songs, and stadium rock anthems.
