Bernadette Schoog in Conversation with Walter Sittler — Stadthalle Leonberg, Leonberg

Walter Sittler spent many years playing a detective by the Swedish sea, and audiences also know him as Dr. Schmidt - the warm-hearted physician in the Grimme Award-winning series "Nikola" - or as hotel manager Ronaldo Schäfer. These were shows he helped turn into cult classics alongside Mariele Millowitsch.

Beyond television, he tours the country with literary readings, makes films, and brings Erich Kästner to life in acclaimed theatre evenings. He is also a man of strong civic and political conviction, with a clear voice in public debate and a firm commitment to defending democracy.

A newspaper once described him like this: "...He combines compact, rough-hewn masculinity with elegance of movement and precision of expression, producing an irresistible male charisma that would seem to cast him as a dramatic hero or romantic lead. That this never quite happened (...) is because his own stature doesn't overwhelm him - he has remained a wink-and-a-smile man, a joker, even though he seems almost too handsome and too straightforward for the part."

Walter Sittler will talk about all of this with Bernadette Schoog on stage at the Stadthalle Leonberg on 20 October 2026.
