Stefan "Das Eich" Eichner plays Reinhard Mey 1.0

Stefan Eichner, known as "Das Eich", is regularly asked after his concerts whether he listens to a lot of Reinhard Mey - and it's no surprise. This "laid-back Franconian" has been a devoted fan of Mey's chansons for decades, having learned and refined his guitar playing largely through Mey's songs.

Now he has fulfilled a long-held wish: a full-length solo stage programme dedicated entirely to Reinhard Mey, performed with just a guitar and no band. Eichner is clear that this is neither a tribute copy nor a "best of": "Reinhard Mey has written over 500 songs. That's a remarkable achievement - and a selection of the 20 biggest hits simply wouldn't do him justice." Alongside classics like "Uber den Wolken" and "Gute Nacht, Freunde", the programme deliberately features songs from the "second and third tier" of Mey's vast catalogue.
