Faking it can be liberating. At least for a while.

After the success of "22 Bahnen", "Windstärke 17" and "Die Assistentin", Caroline Wahl turns to a new character in 1999 Meter über dem Meer (Rowohlt 2026): a young woman with ambitions to reach the top. From Bali to Berlin to St. Moritz - with hair dyed a vivid orange, she slips into the world of the wealthy and glamorous, passing herself off as an artist. The identity game works surprisingly well. Until a man with ice-blue eyes comes along and threatens to unravel everything.
