MTW - The Songs of STS

Austrian pop-rock act S.T.S. filled large venues across the German-speaking world until just a few years ago, driven by passionate live performances. Steinbäcker, Timischl and Schiffkowitz - the three musicians who, from 1978 to 2012, delighted fans with handcrafted folk songs. Most were their own compositions; some were covers of artists like Neil Young, Crosby Stills & Nash, The Byrds, Bob Dylan and The Beatles. What makes these songs so powerful is the remarkable feat of writing lyrics that stay close to the originals yet sound distinctly at home in the Styrian dialect.
MTW are widely regarded as one of the most authentic STS tribute bands around, bringing the original sound of this beloved group to the stage with real conviction. Six musicians perform the songs and the signature STS sound live and by hand.
The three vocalists and guitarists - Oliver Langer (who has filled the founding "M" slot in MTW since 2023), Tom Schrollinger and Werner Völkel - share a genuine passion for STS's entertaining yet thoughtful repertoire. After the three Styrians wrapped up their joint performances following a farewell tour in 2012, MTW took a clear stance: this music is too good to disappear from live stages.
Together with keyboardist Roland Rettenbacher, bassist Mike Fix and drummer Steve Bauer, they form a six-piece that delivers the full STS sound in all its depth and variety. MTW played their first concert in Nuremberg on 16 March 2013. Since then, audiences have grown steadily show by show - recent concerts have drawn up to 1,300 guests, proving that STS fans are still very much out there. Nearly every MTW show sells out days in advance!
