Spanish Impressions - A Tribute to Manuel de Falla - Ensemble Varié, Gisa Michelón, Estela Sanz Posteguillo

Ensemble Varié honors the great Spanish composer Manuel de Falla (1876-1946) alongside flamenco artists Gisa Michelón (dance) and Estela Sanz Posteguillo (vocals). Falla achieved what no other Spanish composer managed: blending folk elements and flamenco-inspired motifs with a classical and impressionist musical language.

The programme features selected works by de Falla and musical tributes from his composer friends Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Isaac Albéniz, and Joaquín Turina. The centerpiece is the celebrated ballet music "El Amor brujo", inspired by flamenco.
