LACHEN & LAUSCHEN - Roland Baisch and the Count Baischy Swingtett: Einen auf die Liebe
Hospitalhof Stuttgart, Germany
34.5 €
The Count Baischy Swingtett sets out to prove that humor and musical excellence are not mutually exclusive!
Fans of elegant, light-footed entertainment will have a great time at this show. The band swings effortlessly through a songbook of American standards - except that the classics made famous by legends like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Nat King Cole have been translated into German by Roland Baisch. A wise move, considering that Roland Baisch and Günther Öttinger had the same English teacher!
Singer, comedian, and entertainer Roland Baisch manages to stroll down a stage staircase in style without tripping, while his fabulous trio of Frank Wekenmann, Thilo Wagner, and Veit Hübner conjures up a big-band sound with apparent ease - earning the name "Count Baischy Swingtett" fair and square.
Roland Baisch (vocals and guitar) - entertainer and comedian with a varied career. He has toured the world with his comedy groups and appeared as an actor in numerous productions. With the Count Baischy Swingtett, he gives full rein to his elegant side.
Thilo Wagner (piano) - one of the finest swing pianists in Europe. Since Mr. Wagner also has a healthy sense of humor, he fits the Swingtett perfectly. According to author Martin Kunzler, he has given "the German scene a swing pianist of real stature" once again.
Frank Wekenmann (guitar and musical direction) - a virtuoso swing guitarist who is equally at home as a world musician and rock player. For 20 years he has accompanied Mr. Baisch in his comedy programmes and along the way passed the exam for funniest "side kick" with flying colors.
Veit Hübner (double bass) - a bassist who is a fixture of the German music scene. Jazz, world music, or comedy - Mr. Hübner slots into any formation with ease.
