In the early 1920s, young Nick Carraway moves to New York as a securities broker. He rents a small house on Long Island. His neighbour is a mysterious man known for the city's most legendary parties: Jay Gatsby. Soon Nick finds himself moving in these circles too, as he is to help Gatsby rekindle his connection with Daisy, Nick's cousin and Gatsby's first love. Meanwhile, Daisy has married Tom Buchanan, a wealthy millionaire from the Midwest. Tom is determined to prevent Daisy from choosing the enigmatic Gatsby at any cost. After a confrontation, a fateful accident occurs that changes everything...
