Roberto Marini - Organ Concert — Lorenzkirche Nürnberg, Nuremberg
Description was written before the event

Roberto Marini ranks among the most distinguished organists of his generation, with a repertoire centred on Romanticism, late Romanticism and contemporary music, alongside a strong gift for improvisation. He gained international recognition in 2002 by performing the complete organ works of Max Reger across 16 recitals, supported by the German Embassy, the Max Reger Institute and the Italian Bishops' Conference. As early as 1996 he had already performed the complete organ works of Johann Sebastian Bach.

Born in Teramo, Marini studied first in Rome under F. Germani and completed his organ and composition studies at the Conservatorio "A. Casella" in L'Aquila with the highest distinction. In 1994 he won the "Premier prix de virtuosité d'Orgue" at the Geneva Conservatory. He also holds a degree in law.

A prize-winner at numerous competitions, Marini has performed internationally for many years, leads masterclasses and serves regularly on competition juries. His recordings have been praised by leading music journals, and he has also recorded for Vatican Radio and RAI.
