Volker Quaschning is a professor of renewable energies at HTW Berlin. His books are considered standard references in the field, and his YouTube videos and podcasts reach millions of people - he has a gift for explaining science in a way that anyone can follow.
In his talk he addresses the central questions around future energy supply: How will we heat our homes? How will we stay mobile? What does a secure supply from renewable sources look like? And what role do heat pumps, green hydrogen, e-fuels, storage systems and gas power plants play in all of this?
Drawing on solid scientific evidence, he lays out what makes sense - when and why - and what does not.
