Millions for morality? Claire Zachanassian returns as a billionaire to her impoverished hometown of Gullen - the place that made her who she is. Now she demands revenge and puts an immoral offer on the table. As time passes and hardship grows, the town's moral standards begin to shift. What starts out ironic and comedic - seemingly not to be taken seriously - ends in a bitter negotiation over the price of humanity.
