LOISACH MARCI • Alphorntechno Open Air
Kulturhaus Schwanen, Waiblingen, Germany
15 €
On Saturday, 25 July 2026, LOISACH MARCI (Marcel Engler) plays a summer open air concert on the terrace behind Kulturhaus Schwanen in Waiblingen: doors at 19:00, show starts at 20:00. Under the banner of "Alphorntechno", Alpine breath meets bass and machines - an evening somewhere between the dancefloor, the mountain ridge and a pop moment, where tradition isn't preserved under glass but rewired from scratch.
When folk music first collided with rock and pop about 25 years ago, more than a few traditionalists choked on their yodels, the milkmaid shed a tear, and the Alpine homeland seemed to be in grave cultural peril. The birth of "Alpenrock", pioneered by Hubert von Goisern, turned out to be the exact opposite of that cultural doom - it gave an entire generation of young musicians a hopeful space to identify with, one that let them escape the fundamentalist stuffiness without having to leave home.
Marcel Engler, a.k.a. Loisach Marci, carves out a genuinely new musical path with his Alpine art, far from anything pre-packaged. For him it's more than art - it's a way of life. A sound that is, in every sense of the word, UNHEARD OF. "Do something great with musical tradition, but don't wreck it" - that's how the Partenkirchen native describes his approach, blending alphorn, electronic sound and 14 instruments he plays himself. Rhythmic sonic experiments built on a broad bass foundation. None of it fits neatly into a box: too layered, too soft, too wild and too cheeky to be pinned to a single genre.
