Lydia Benecke - Sadists: BDSM vs. Crime
Kongress- und Tagungszentrum Stadthalle, Baunatal, Germany
34 €
This lecture explores the different psychological profiles of harmless and dangerous sexual sadists: on one hand, it examines the "perfectly normal life" of those who consensually live out their sexual sadism with masochistic partners. On the other, it takes the audience into the thoughts and emotions of dangerous, criminal sadists - whose most notorious representatives include Jack the Ripper and Ted Bundy.
Lydia Benecke developed the first comprehensive scientific model for distinguishing dangerous from non-dangerous sexual sadists, published by the "Verlag für Polizeiwissenschaft". In her lecture she addresses questions such as:
- What sets one type of sadist apart from the other?
- What needs drive them?
- What defines their personality?
- What kind of partners do they seek?
- What made them who they are?
Lydia Benecke also explains why "Fifty Shades of Grey" fails to give a realistic picture of sadomasochistic relationships and why Christian Grey is more of a dangerous than a consensual sexual sadist.
A gripping journey into the world of criminal psychology.
