Volker Quaschning is a professor of renewable energy at HTW Berlin. His books are considered standard works, and his YouTube videos and podcasts reach millions of people - he explains science in a way that everyone can understand.

In his lecture, he answers pressing questions about the future of energy supply: How should we heat our homes? How should we get around? What does a secure supply of renewable energy look like? What role do heat pumps, green hydrogen, e-fuels, storage systems, and gas power plants play in this?

Quaschning demonstrates scientifically what makes sense and when - and what doesn't. He clearly identifies where problems arise in addressing the climate crisis and the dependencies that threaten prosperity and democracy.
