"Orgelfaszination: Matthias Eisenberg" — Annenkirche, Dresden

VIRTUOSO ORGAN MUSIC from the "Master of Fugues".

Join a festive organ recital featuring virtuoso Bach works alongside powerful improvisations on well-known spring melodies and songs. The programme includes contemporaries and forerunners of the Leipzig composer - Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, and Johann Ludwig Krebs.

Eisenberg's life has been shaped by the organ since childhood. As a young boy he already stood in for the cantor in his small hometown, demonstrating his abilities at just 9 years old. The focus of his musical and improvisational talent has always been the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. At only 24, Matthias Eisenberg was appointed principal organist of the Gewandhaus, allowing him to pursue his passion close to Bach's own stomping ground and to produce countless internationally acclaimed recordings.

The concert programme highlights the pillars of Eisenberg's 60-year stage career at home and abroad: virtuoso preludes and fugues come alive under his racing hands at the organ. The highlight for every listener: free improvisations on familiar melodies, in which the organ legend and "phenomenon Eisenberg" loses himself in a seemingly endless crescendo and espressivo. A musical firework that, like an earthquake, has been lifting audiences out of their seats in astonishment for decades.
