Missa Votiva

Zelenka's Missa Votiva is the most extensive of his roughly twenty masses and, at the same time, a work shrouded in mystery. Zelenka brought an unusual degree of care to this fascinating composition. It was most likely an act of gratitude for his recovery from a serious illness - one into which he poured the very best of his craftsmanship and creative courage.
