Glas, Ton & Scherben - KOMM 81 - Preview Performance — Heilig-Geist-Saal, Nuremberg

1981. Young people feel ignored by politicians; housing shortages and protests against rearmament drive them into the streets. An entire generation is gripped by a spirit of upheaval. And everyone meets at KOMM! Young artists find workshops there; idealists, computer tinkerers, singer-songwriters and would-be revolutionaries have found a home. The self-governed communication centre divides politicians and the public alike.

Young Alex, son of a Nuremberg police officer, falls in love for the first time. Against his father's wishes, he lets himself be drawn in by the idealist Paul, who introduces him to the unfamiliar, rough world of KOMM - at exactly the wrong moment. One evening, after protests by the squatter scene, a heavy-handed crackdown takes place.
