His films pit the surreal and uncanny against the banal and everyday, exposing the absurd truth of our social reality. Caroline Finn's dance theater piece "Eat my Fear" steps into Lynch's universe of surrealism. Reality and fiction blur. Enigmatic figures and creatures drift between dreams and nightmares. The mundane tips into the grotesque - and through it all runs a relentless attempt to find meaning in a world that has long since lost its footing.
