Joey Calderazzo Trio

Joey Calderazzo is widely regarded as one of the finest pianists of his generation. The American has travelled the arc from child prodigy to in-demand session musician to elite member of the best jazz ensembles, recording thirteen albums as a bandleader along the way. He has accompanied the giants of the music - from Michael Brecker and Branford Marsalis to Jack DeJohnette and Dave Holland.

Calderazzo's long-standing trio, which recently recorded "Live From The Cotton Club Tokyo, Volume I", is his space for relaxation and discovery, where improvisation takes centre stage, freedom is the norm and swing is absolute. Joined by bassist Orlando le Fleming and drummer David Hawkins, he presents originals drawn from his remarkably broad understanding of jazz alongside selected cover arrangements that bring together swinging blues and post-bop, traditional jazz and boundary-pushing improvisation.
