Hanauer Poetry Slam

The Hanauer Poetry Slam has been running regularly since 2010, always finding its way to the most interesting stages in town.
KUZ Hanau hosts a special slam on mostly intimate but carefully chosen stages in Hesse's smallest major city.

Every month, we bring 4 to 6 hand-picked poets to our audience. Whether their texts make people laugh, cry, or think - whether they perform from memory or read from a page, rhyme or just tell a story - it all belongs to this wonderful format. We always put together a fine mix of what makes poetry slam so compelling: sometimes a classic competition with audience voting, sometimes a show with no scores at all.

Some of today's big names in the scene took their first steps with us, and we look forward to giving a chance to anyone who wants to give it a try.
