Hanauer Poetry Slam

Since 2010, KUZ Hanau has been running the Hanauer Poetry Slam on small but carefully chosen stages across Hesse's smallest major city.

Each month, 4 to 6 hand-picked poets take the stage with texts that make you laugh, cry, or think - delivered from memory or read aloud, rhymed or told as a plain story. The format rotates: sometimes a classic competition with audience scoring, sometimes a show with no vote at all.

Over the years, the series has caught the early performances of several now well-known names on the slam scene, and it continues to give newcomers a place to try their hand.
