Description was written before the event

From autumn 2026, Ferdinand von Schirach embarks on a tour across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland with his new programme "Der stille Freund". The programme explores human triumph and failure - friendship, hope, Greek Stoicism, and death. It takes a distinctive form inspired by the book of the same name, yet can only be experienced in this form on stage.

Der Spiegel has called Ferdinand von Schirach a "magnificent storyteller", the New York Times named him an "extraordinary stylist", The Independent compared him to Kafka and Kleist, Financial Times to Raymond Carver, and the Daily Telegraph wrote that he is "one of the most distinctive voices of European literature". His books have been published in more than forty countries and sold millions of copies; many have been adapted for film. His plays Terror and God rank among the most discussed dramas of our time worldwide.
