Holiday Jazz-Band - Open Air - Flens-Jazzfrühschoppen

For just one day, top-tier musicians come together as the Holiday Jazz-Band to perform cheerful, spirited Dixieland in the traditional style at the Flens-Jazzfrühschoppen on Gut Oestergaard. Organizer Jörg Lempelius is proud that interest in this event, held annually since 2001, remains as strong as ever.

Band member Matthias Constabel has taken over from Ulf Schirmer and now selects the lineup each year. He ensures that a diverse range of musician combinations deliver varied and engaging sound. The musicians know each other from the Traditional Old Merry Tale Jazzband in Hamburg. Breaking with the usual practice where musicians meet for the first time at this event, there is one exception this year. This year's lineup features: Thomas Niemand (trumpet), Jan Carstensen (clarinet, saxophone), Ansgar Adamski (trombone), Enno Dugnus (piano), Joachim Refardt (banjo), Matthias Constabel (bass, tuba), and Nils Conrad (drums). Visitors can expect a Hamburg band that, like no other group, brings a fresh, youthful, and inspiring energy to traditional jazz.

The Frühschoppen takes place on the lawn between the barns and will be moved to the spacious Kulturscheune if weather forecasts are unfavorable. The Gut Oestergaard team, event caterer Manfred Weinmann, and the Flensburg Lions Club ensure excellent refreshments!
