Herr Doktor, die Kanüle klemmt! - The Most Frivolous Comedy of the Year - P18!

Fair warning: expect slapstick, cheeky dialogue, and a whole lot of bare skin.

The first frivolous comedy "Herr Doktor, die Kanüle klemmt!" premiered on 25 January 2015 at the Boulevardtheater Dresden and has since been performed over 120 times to more than 50,000 delighted audience members.

Two sequels have already followed ("Herr Pastor, ihre Kutte rutscht!" and "Herr Lehrer, Fräulein Lustig schwänzt!"), and a third ("Herr Landwirt, ihre Gurke wächst!") had its premiere on 7 July 2019.

The undisputed fan favourite across the entire "HERR..." series is the character of retired (or not-so-retired) archaeologist Liliane Leutheuser-Schnarrenthal, née Busenbach - so popular she even made it onto the poster for the fourth instalment.

PLOT:

Gynecologist Prof. Dr. Löchler has to attend an important conference in Cambridge/Boston. Unfortunately, his stand-in cancels at the last minute. In desperation, Alexander Löchler calls his twin brother Axel Löchler, who happily agrees to cover the practice - except that Axel is a vet specialising in large livestock. Well, it's only three weeks and nobody will notice.

Things get complicated when the receptionist, Rosina Nudelmann, turns out to be a temp as well - one who brings along a senile parrot that can't be left alone due to a psychological condition. The fact that she also applied for DSDS and constantly hums German pop hits seems almost bearable by comparison.

And then there are the patients. Frau Leutheuser-Schnarrenthal, a single lady of around 95 whose best years exist only in the past tense, drops by several times a week - including to see the doctor. And what exactly is that strange gentleman doing in a gynaecology practice, the one who suffers from a bowel...
