Critics have already hailed Italian jazz pianist and singer Francesca Tandoi as a star of the international jazz scene. Her playing - rapid yet elegant - draws clear comparisons to her great idol, pianist Oscar Peterson. The Italian's swinging, melodic sound is driven forward by bursts of high-energy piano passages, her fingers seeming to glide effortlessly across the keys. In several pieces, Tandoi's warm voice joins her refined arrangements.

Born in Rome in 1984, Tandoi moved to the Netherlands in 2009, where she studied at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and at the Rotterdam Conservatoire. Within just a few years she built a reputation as a world-class pianist and vocalist. She has shared the stage with some of the most celebrated jazz musicians around, including Scott Hamilton, with whom she recorded several albums. She has also worked in duo with Darius Brubeck and Stefano Bollani, and has released seven albums to date.
